Coagulase Plasma EDTA is used for the identification of pathogenic Staphylococci, principally S. aureus by means of the coagulase test. When the strain is placed in contact with rabbit plasma, the appearance of coagulation is observed. This product was produced by Avicenna Research Institute. The contamination test of this product was reported negative. User Quality Control At the time of use, test both positive and negative control cultures to check performance of the coagulase plasma, techniques and methodology. The following cultures listed are the minimum that should be used for performance testing. POSITIVE CONTROL S. aureus ATCC 25923 NEGATIVE CONTROL S.epidermidis ATCC 12228
Upon receipt, store the product in the original pack at 2-8°C away from direct light. If properly stored, the product may be used up to the expiration date. Do not use the product beyond this date. Opened and reconstituted vial under aseptic conditions can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 5 days or aliquot into 0.5 ml amounts and stored at -20ºC for 14 days. Allow plasma to equilibrate to room temperature before use.
